After I mirgated the repository of a V7.6 process it fails to proceed in V9. It shows an error message: "Could not read attachment". It seems that there is a problem with an attached file.

Any solutions for this?

Thank in advance..

Is the attachment in the database? ("Select * from eattachment where ekey like '0<tab><folderId>%' " will get all for that folder)

If it is, how does it compare with the one in the v7 database? Also, how does it compare with the identical file newly attached in version 9?

I suspect it may not have been converted correctly.

The Attachment is in the eAttachment table. But it is twice as large and the eContents is different. So it seems that it converted wrong.

Seriously? Not ntext or nclob? Do they contain text?

What is the actual data type according to SQL Server or Oracle?

It is "image" according to SQL Server.

Quite right, my mistake, I thought it was ntext. It should be, really.

I suspect the migration has changed all code from non-unicode values to unicode values, but this should not be required. I would need to see if this occurs in my migrations.

Are all attachments like this?

Just tried again to test this, and got another failure. I am not sure I can spend the time trying to see what is wrong with this particular test migration so I cannot help. sorry.

But thanks any way :)

Yup: a speeding ticket, for releasing the data migration tool too fast ;-)

So after a redeploy it suddenly works .. don't ask my why and I also don't know how long it does. Maybe Mr. Heisenberg had his hand in it ;-)

I have the exact same problem but unfortunately a re-publish didn't fix anything. It looks like my v9 attachments are being stored as non-unicode whereas my v7.6 attachments are unicode with the extra "00" infront of each value in the blob.

Anyone know if there is a setting for this?

We just used the "out-of-the-box" install for v9 so not sure why it's now non-unicode in v9.

Hmmm........
