I'm sure this is simple but have been unable to track down a sensible method of actually capturing, im my case creating a file for later up-load to  a Document Management Solution, the form actually completed by a metastorm user.
I have created various documents using mail merge etc. but there is a specific audit requirement to capture what an end-user has actually completed.
Any clues would be gratefully accepted.

Tim,

does it actually have to be an image of the form or would a snapshot of the data be sufficient?

A snapshot of the data could be written out to, say, an XML document on submit.

Otherwise, we may be able to help you generate a PDF of the form as completed, but it will not come from the browser as it was displayed, but can be generated immediately after submission.

It would be possible to capture an image from a modern browser using client-side scripting, but unless you have full control over browser (IE9+, recent Chrome, Safari or FireFox), this will not be workable.

If you want to discuss this please PM Rob (brd on here)

place a print button on the form that's hidden until archived.  Then open it up through the reports or an admin form and print to file to then upload it to document management.  But a "Submit to file" option seems rather nice.

Joe,

We have version9, never used version7 and I understood from my reading that the print function was no longer available. Have you been able to re-create to the extent of printing the Metastorm e-Form to a new output file?
If so I'd appreciate the tip as once I've got hold of the form I have server side .pdf burners to create the 'original' image showing the entries made o the form by the submitter.

Thanks,

Tim.

I put a print button on the form, under when clicked...

window.print();

This will bring up the normal print window where you can select "to file" or whatever you want.

However, window.print will only print the image of the window.  If you have grids with data scrolled outside the visible area, or on multiple grid pages, they will be included in the printed image.
