Hi everyone

I started working with MBPM 9.0.3 about 4 months ago and i have a question: i have been told that MBPM does not send mails instead it creates mail messages which are files and these files are store in a place that is named upon installation where they are picked by the mailer, so my question is where exactly are these files are stored and how can i change the settings of the mailer?. The installation was already being done before i started using MBPM so i am not sure where to start looking

MBPM uses SMTP to send its email, so it depends on how your SMTP is configured.  We don't specify any location for "temporary file usage" during installation though perhaps they do so internally and immediately clean up after itself.

Hi BMellert,

Thanks for your response, will try and track the SMTP settings and see if i will get what i need, FYI the way the email notifications takes place currently is from MBPM these email files get taken to something called ra then to exchange, my plan is to get rid of this intermediatory and from MBPM straight to exchange, does this make sense?

I'm note sure to be honest as I don't fully understand the internals of email/SMTP itself, or the specifics of how MBPM handles it.  All I am aware of is there are registry settings under the Metastorm | e-work | Engine | SMTP tree, and then the configuration of your SMTP itself.  (We drop to "localhost" in the registry and configure our SMTP to drop to our internal servers.
