Hi All,

Metastorm Version: 9.1.2.2
Database: SQL Server 2008 R2
Operating System: Windows Server 2008 R2

We are planning to use the RT in editing email messages in our solution.

Is there a way to disable some functions on the toolbars under the rich text control.
We would want to remove all the icons that are in red in the above screenshot.

We have also tried editing the ToolsFile.xml (C:\Program Files (x86)\Metastorm\BPM\Web\app_themes\Default) file that seems to have the configuration for this but its not working.

Regards,
John

Not that I know of but if you find a solution I'd be interested.  We use the RTF in our emails and some other places as well.

It is a Teleric control, so perhaps accessing its options via client-side script may be possible, but I don't know ... and it won't be officially supported if something like this does work.

If you are doing the clientside (unsupported undocumented etc) method, you have to get to the telerik object and play with it.

var x = $find("RTFControlName");

will get you that object

The buttons on the rtf control seem to be under this array - x.editor._toolAdapter._tools

The array objects have an "enabled" property, that you might be able to set to "false", and make them go away. I've not tried it - but I've done similar things with attachment controls to hide buttons, so it may work.

Good luck!

PS - RTF controls if used unwisely can be open to xss hacks, so be careful where you use it :)
