Okay this is probably something stupid I am doing but my dynamic role is not working.

I have a global variable "ValidatorVariable" and I assign that to a username from a dropdown list.

Then the role VALIDATOR is equal to my ProcessNameData1.ValidatorVariable . This works fine and the proper stage appears on their todo list.

The Problem is:.......

When I reassign the variable e.g Have another form action which sets ValidatorVariable -> some other person, it doesn't change todo list. the variable does indeed change in the table but the associated todo list still stays with the originally assigned person and not the new one.

do I have to perform some call/update/refresh or something?

Failing this, is there a preferred way of dealing with a dynamic role e.g setting the role to a sql query and storing the role in a different table cell? Although that seems unnecessary.

You need to set the 'roles' property of a loopback action to 'rebuild alerts'. The default is 'leave it'.
Post an example, and we will have a much better idea what the problem is. In about 90% of posts, the problem is one of communication. Examples bridge that gap.
