Error Message When Spell-Checking Date-Formatted PDF Field

Last edited: 30 Apr 2002

The information in this article applies to product: e-Work 5.x 6.x

  • If a PDF form containing date-formatted fields has been submitted as an e-Work external form, attempting to re-open the form generates the Adobe Acrobat error message: "Invalid date/time: please ensure that the date/time exists and that all 4 digits of any year are supplied [<field name>]"

  • In the Properties for each PDF date-formatted field, on the Options tab select "Do Not Spell Check."
  • From the menu, select "Save As" and overwrite the existing file.
  • Remove the existing e-Work shadow form and create a new one.
  • Delete the existing e-Work custom variables associated with the date-formatted PDF fields and create new ones. This time the e-Work variables should be Date/Time variables and not Text variables.
  • Republish the procedure.

Post an example, and we will have a much better idea what the problem is. In about 90% of posts, the problem is one of communication. Examples bridge that gap.
