I checked the eAttachment table and see 2 entries, one for '1 oa authproc.xml' and one for '1 oa euser.js'.  I don't know if that is all the entries that table is supposed to have or not.  I tried putting the Metastorm Administration tools in "recovery mode" via the web.config, but was unsuccessful, I get the same error no matter what.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times to no avail.  So I am at a loss still.

Sorry, then I have no idea. What do Metastorm say?

Actually, with some help from people, the issue was fixed by making sure the machinename\user that the Admin page is using to hook to the database has the Metastorm database set as it's default and the database role of db_owner in the login properties for sql server 2008.

I was able to log in with SysAdmin normally and create my users after restarting IIS.

Now I'm trying to work around "The partner transaction manager has disabled its support for remote/network transactions" issues trying to launch one of their sample procedures.

Hi, did you ever manage to fix the "partner transaction manager " issue ? I'm having the same problem.

Yes ... but since it was nearly nine months ago I will have to try to dig up what it was.  Since 9.0.0 wasn't an option for us at that time, and we had several high priority projects to work in in 7.6, I haven't had much of a chance to look at our v9 installation since then.  We will restart from scratch, likely closer to the holidays, with a fresh v9 installation as the project load allows.

Thanks for your reply Bmellert, but I managed to resolve the problem this morning. The Metastorm database was on a clustered SQL environment. I had to modify the clustered MSDTC instance security configuration on the SQL cluster to allow inbound transactions and restart the MSDTC service. I can post the config details if you think it would be useful to you.

The SQL Server admin at one customer site of ours did something like that (it mostly went over my head).

Please do post any details you can to help future victims.

This post is probably dead, but it helped me resolve this issue.

My situation was similar to the original poster in that we have a new install of 9.0.3.5 and after installing could not login to the http://localhost/metastormadministration page with the SysAdmin password.  After multiple reinstallation and recreations of the database we evaluated our process and found that we were skipping the sql script steps after each upgrade (i.e. after we installed 9.0 we went straight to 9.0.3 without running the adminttoolsprocedure.sql, sqlpersistenceservice_schema.sql, eworkprocedures.sql, create.sql and sqlpersistenceservice_logic.sql.

I cannot state unequivocally that was the problem, but it finally got it to work.

I was also having this problem with a fresh install of 9.1 and with a fresh database install using XE 11g, XP SP3, and the 11G client.  The eAttachment table did not have the eJuser.js file loaded.  When I went thorugh the documentation, it is important to realize that the administration scripts are not in the same place as the rest of the scripts.  It seems that if they are needed to be run for the install to work properly, that they would be in the same place as the engine scripts.

Once I ran the scripts, all my problems went away.

Just as a side note, the recovery mode does not work in 9.1.  I tried that to see what would work, but I guess if the database scripts are never run, it will not work.  My recommendation would be to make sure all the scripts are run from the administration folder in the install folder.

I hope this helps.

I just ran into this issue today after upgrading my production environment to v9.2.1

I changed admin tools\web\web.config recovermode="true"

iisreset

logged into metastormadministration as database sa account.

i found under authentication, eSSO_Web.js had an index of 0, euser.js had an index of 4.  I deleted euser.js and re-added it, still had an index of 4.  I moved euser.js to the top, had an index of 0, moved it back to the bottom, now it has an index of 1.  I changed recovery mode back to false, another issreset, and i'm back in business.
