I am getting an error when i try to execute a server script with the Conditional action --> When Action Completed.

In the script i have associated a DSN and am updating values in other database.

ErrorCode: '-2147217864' Description: 'Row cannot be located for updating. Some values may have been changed since it was last read.'  Source: 'Microsoft Cursor Engine'  SQL State: ''  NativeErrorCode: '32'

And i see this as a known error in Metastorm. Is there any fix for this? Or should i not do it.

Google 2147217864 and you get lots of hits. It this static data you re trying to change or is an other process also changing the data you try to change?

I got this corrected. this is due to an update of the actual process table that i am updating via a DSN which is actually modified at the same time while moving between stages.

Thanks again.

Several nono's there

Using a DSN to access the BPM database there is no need for that and it can lock stuff up all over the place.

Updating process tables direct. That's also a good way of messing stuff up.

What are you trying to do?

Hi,

I am facing the same issue, could you please let me know the fix for this.

We designed a procedure in Metastorm 7.5, database is Oracle. At a particular action in a stage, we associated a form.

We are able to open the form at this particular action for the very first time and we are able to fill and submit the form without any errors. The folder is now progressing to next stage

When I come back to earlier stage (return action/ button where form is assigned to users todo list dynamically) and open the earlier form to edit the values, the form is getting opened with all the earlier filled details but when I click on submit button this time (either by modifying any field values or by leaving details unaltered), I am getting failed to commit action error.

I am unable to find any errors logged either in elog table or in designer logs in service manager. Request your help to debug and fix the error.
