Hello Friends,

Need your help in showing different attachments in Multi-clip while at different stages.

Lets say Originator uploads an attachment v1.0 in multiclip and submits.
At next stage(stage 2) user can see v1.0 and he also uploads v1.1 and v1.2 to multi-clip and submit.
At next stage(Stage 3) user should not be able to see v1.0 but should be able to see the latest one v1.1 and v1.2.

Is this possible to achieve. By default multi-clip shows each and every attachment uploaded by the users in the process.

Any help in these would be really great...

Thanks in Advance... :)

That's the way multi-clip fields work.

You would need to use single clip fields to achieve what you want.

Nope. You have to know what you are adding.

One possible way is to add the file just using a local variable. That way you can control what gets added. Viewing can then be dome via a multi-clip grid. You need to restart the action, unfortunately, as clip fields are not allowed to be dependent (although I have been asking for years, and used to hack the database to make it work).

There is no reason not to have a large number of clip fields with local variables, and you might even show each one only if the variable for the previous field is filled.

Hi there is an alternative, if slightly cumbersome way in v7 that may work in v9. I am trying it out at the moment.

You can create a table which stores the EKEY from the eattachment table and the stage/action/any other filter criteria associated with that file. You can then create a grid that shows the filename from the EKEY field in you custom table. The trick is to get the metastorm grid to load the url that corresponds to the attachment.

You will need to do a window.open on the following

/Metastorm/eReadAttachment.ashx?Service=Metastorm BPM+Server&AttachmentFile="+l_FileName+"&AttachmentType=Folder&AttachmentOwner=" + GetField("FolderID", "")

where l_FileName is a Hex Encoded value of the filename, itself.

As I said cumbersome, but t worked in 7.x, I'm trying it in 9.2

Is it possible to add multiple attachments at once?

Example: You need to attach 11 documents to a process, they're all in a single folder but you can't zip them due to the process assembling everything into a pdf once it's completed.  So you currently need to click add, select file, click upload, rinse and repeat for all 11 files.  Is there a way you can just click add, select all 11 files, and click upload?

This could be done using SWiFT.

If you are interested further, please do send me a message. I'm more than happy to help where possible.
