Hi Guys,

MBPM Version: 9.1.2.2
Database: SQL Server 2008 R2
Server: Windows 2008 R2

We currently have an issue on a folder stuck on a stage inside a sub process. We have already tried manually pushing the folder via inserting records on ewait but we get an error when it passes an action:

Is anyone here familiar with this kind of error?
"Failed to execute deployed method 'WhenActionCompleted', using entity 'Assigned'. Stack empty."

The Assigned is the action we are inserting on ewait. (Rendezvous action)

Regards,
John

What kind of messages, if any, are you getting before you "manually" push the folder?  Might there be activity on the exiting (stage or action) of the subprocess or resume on the parent process which causes the action to fail -- thereby sticking the folder in its current stage?

I dont get any messages. I just checked the elog table after manually pushing it via ewait table.

Just to elaborate more on my problem. Basically the stage where the folder was stuck is in a subprocess.
Then the plan is to get it back to the parent process. Base on the screen shot below, the error started when the folder was stuck on the "Work allocation Routing" stage. To fix it we added an entry on ewait to properly pass thru "assigned to team" ang get back to the parent process. After applying the fix, it was successful in a sense the it got out the parent process but got stuck now on the Work Allocation (Sub Process) because it encountered the error which I indicated above.  We already tried doing the same thing by adding the "Assigned" rendezvous action to push it but still no luck. Same error as before.

All the details needed to be able to pass thru these actions are all correct already. We are just not sure if we broke anything on the data for this folder making it stuck and giving us error I provided.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

I had an issue in my test environment where folders would get stuck at system stages, restarting the Process Engine seemed to do the trick.

I've never had it happen in my production environment though.

Just curious, does everything work correctly if Assigned to Individual occurs instead of Assigned to Team?

I see there is code activity on the Assigned rendezvous action.  Might something in there be causing issues?  Perhaps add WriteToLog or WriteToFile messages to see if its getting in or how far through it gets.

Hi BMellert,

Yep everything should work correctly we have doubled check everything. We have also checked the code activity on the rendezvous action and seems like everything is ok since the code there is just assigning some data on a process variable. No verification or what that can cause error on it.

Anyways. We already resolved the issue. What we did was to manually update the stagename on the efolder table and completed an action. Basically we got the folder back to the stage where it all started then we did the action that was suppose to pass all of these processes in the first place.

The only set back here is for the audit trail we have now for the folder since we made it look like the folder jumped from one stage to another when we fixed it.

Thank you all for the help!
