Hi Team

Our application is setup with the default user passwords for the user. Instead of using Ldap we used the generic user. Just wanted to know if there is anyway in system using which we can force a password change for the user.

Please let me know if we can push a force password change during the login of the application

There is a way, yes. We used it in our User Details procedure for version 9. Basically we did it by removing all roles and alerts from the user (including 'Everyone') except their own name. We then had a single folder on their to do list that they had to action to change their password. This re-instated all their roles and alerts.

We shall be releasing our User Management solution for version 9.1 in the next few weeks. That will most likely have this facility too.

Thanks Jerome. Could you please let me know once it is released. So i can try the same way. I am not sure if our business will be interested in the role removal for a user for a password change.

Yes, this is available, but not fully completed, tested or documented. I will be providing some details on how to use it in on-line demos very* soon.

(* The meaning of 'very' in this context is elastic, and prone to change with my workload, the weather, and possibly other inexplicable factors)
