Hello All,

I have a general question in regards to the performance of forms with associated business objects.

We know that form load time increases when the form becomes larger and busier with controls.

When associating business objects to the form does this also increase the form load time behind the scenes?

To add to this, associating business objects to form segments which then are associated to the main form are multiplying the use of the same business object as well.  For example in a simple manner, 4 form segments require access to the process data business object therefore having to associate the business object 4 separate times.  Then the 4 form segments are placed on the same form - does that mean the process data business object loads 4 times?  Let alone the form segment by default has the process context and local variables as well (multiplying them into the equation).

We have seen a lot of sluggishness, but we think it is mostly because of the panels of just large forms. In my experience, once communicating with the database, all communications are quite fast (assuming optimised SQL).

In short, I am not sure of the impact of multiple BO's on a form, but I think the form itself will be the main cause of delays.

Post an example, and we will have a much better idea what the problem is. In about 90% of posts, the problem is one of communication. Examples bridge that gap.
