Hi,
I know this issue has been raised many times before.
I am trying to place a dropdown column on editable grid. I have tried virtually everything Changes value to quoted, Change in database field type but nothing seems to work. I have dropdown cols on other grids in process but now they have strated giving problem. Only when I change it to text, it works otherwise form gets stuck with no errors in designer or event logs. Best part is that metastorm does not give you any clue.

I did a test with a test map. Same issue. However if I place double quotes around the option values, it works. Why? I don't know.
My database field is of type varchar.

Can somebody tell me any checks s that I can pinpoint the actuall issue?
Thanks in advance.

look for odd characters in the options list. I seem to recall a "\" is an issue, and should be replaced (at the database level or in e-work) with "\\"

Just do the sql in a query tool and see what you find in the data. I agree - it is one of the most frustrating errors because you get absolutely no feedback on it.

Hi,
Many thanks for the reply. I am trying to put lietral string in the option list
Values are
Banked
Cleared

I truncated the table so as to avoid garbage data issue, but still it gives the same problem. When I change it to text, it works.

try a comma delimited list, assuming you have that as the delimter:
Banked,Cleared

What do you mean by "When I change it to text, it works". If it is just the two options, what did you change it from?

Hi,

I mean I change it to text type column. I tried
%SelectSQL("'Select 'Banked'")
%SelectSQL("'Select 'Cleared'")

and it works. It doesn't work with comma delimited list as suggested.
