Hi,

I've installed v9 and configured single sign-on with 'out-of-the-box' settings. No problems or errors.

However, when I first start the web client it takes around 120 seconds to load up. Thereafter response times are fine unless the app has been idle for a long time.

Yes, I've checked the event logs - nothing there. I've also switched off on-access scanning on our virus protection with no effect (so I've switched it back on again).

I've got a ticket open with Metastorm about this but wondered if anyone else had come across it. I suspect it is an IIS setting. I'm running IIS6 on Windows 2008 Server which is a bit of a black art as far as I am concerned!

Thanks,

Rick.

Hi Rick,

I ran into a similar issue a few months ago on a development machine using Windows 2008.  It turned out that the Windows Firewall service was the culprit.  I turned the Windows Firewall service(s) off and the response time for a form/folder was immediate.

Good luck

Griff

Griff,

Thanks for the advice. I've stopped the Windows Firewall service but it hasn't made any difference. Anyone else got any ideas?

Rick.

Hello Rick,

I'm running into the same issue. My Development network takes  2-3 minutes for the initial load or after a apppool time out and my production netowrk takes about 10 minutes. were you able to find a solution for this? I've disabled SEP and made some changes to the registry as recommended by other users.

Thanks,

Are you running on a closed network with no access to the internet?

I ran into this problem on our development environment and it was because IIS was trying to check the Microsoft CRL list to see if any of the Metastorm assemblies were on the list.  Because my development environment is in a sandbox with no internet access, it would wait 2 minutes before timing out and letting the application run.  To get around the issue, I created a vbs script with the following, then ran it using the cscript tool:

const HKEY_USERS = &H80000003
strComputer = "."
Set objReg=GetObject("winmgmts:{impersonationLevel=impersonate}!\\" _
& strComputer & "\root\default:StdRegProv")
strKeyPath = ""
objReg.EnumKey HKEY_USERS, strKeyPath, arrSubKeys
strKeyPath = "\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WinTrust\Trust Providers\Software Publishing"
For Each subkey In arrSubKeys
objReg.SetDWORDValue HKEY_USERS, subkey & strKeyPath, "State", 146944
Next

Or you can manually go into your registry, loop through each HKEY_USERS\xxxx\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WinTrust\Trust Providers\Software Publishing key and change the State value from "0x00023c00" to "0x00023e00".

I think 'greenej77' hit the nail on the head with the post above. I've just seen this post on the Metastorm website which details a different way to fix the same problem.

It has reduced the load time after an IIS Reset from 3 minutes to 25 seconds.
