Hi,
I know I am asking a little bit basic question, but after much search I couldn't find ok answer. I am fairly new to metastorm and I wanted to know
A. How to use HTML forms in Metastorm. My form as few controls(Text, checkbox and a submit button). I want to save the data filled in ework database. I know that I need to map form controls to variables but How do ido that? Will the button submit event will be recognized by metastorm. Where to write the server script to map form controls to databse(I think we cann't access metastorm variables in client script). if anybody can point to an example, wil be very helpful for me.Also, Will this form be an asp or pure html form. If html then what is going to be at form submit action (I am novice on front end development).
B. Earlier I had an question but couldn't get a reply. I know I can generate a proxy for the service and plave the dll in engine folder but I am stuck at proxy configuration file.Configuration file is attached to process runing the proxy dll, so where should I place web service client configuration file.

Thanks in advance for any help.

6.5 External Forms
in the designer manual is a good point to start but it's not as you envision it.

All you get is the layout. the processing is done by e-work.

Post an example, and we will have a much better idea what the problem is. In about 90% of posts, the problem is one of communication. Examples bridge that gap.

PS that's for V6/7 for V9 the problem is V9 at the moment ;)

Hi,
I have tried following 6.5. Issue is that metastorm client[web] never opens the form. It just get stuck in opening the form. It is a simple form with 2 fields. They are converted to text  with variables. Best thing is that we never get any clue.. why something is going wrong?

Perhaps post an example procedure and html file so we can see what you are seeing?

We have an external form via HTML (which redirects to an ASP) which we've had integrated for years using the procedure outlined in chapter 6.5, so I know it works overall.

Hi,

Attached is test procedure: TestForm.xep and BasicPage file.
Baiscpage.txt [as html file are not uploadable).
Expalination:
HTML file is nothing but it contains 2 fields. A form in procedure uses this as an external form.

Attached Files
xep TestForms.xep (1.64 KB, 6 views)
txt BasicPage.txt (198 Bytes, 9 views)
