Hi All

I need to use a list on a form but with Id and value pairs. Unfortunately it appears the list object in 6.6.4 does not appear to support list and value pairs (the id field gets appended to the list field).

So I used the old method of concatenating the Id, a delimeter and List

i.e.
1: abc
2: def
3: ghi

Unfortunately when the list is rendered it sorts the the list by grouping like numbers i.e.

1: aaa
10: jjj
11:kkk
2: bbb
20:ttt

I need to sort the list numerically by Id.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Jas

Sorry

Just remembered that I have to use SelectSQL with comma delimeters instead of GetData

It would appear I have another problem. Does anyone know if lists support dependencies?

I'm trying to display some text in a memo (selected field is dependent on)which is dependent on list object (selected field has dependents).

It does not appear that changing the list refreshes the form / triggers dependencies.

No idea about the second one, the first one could be solved (if it was still a problem ;) by padding with 0
so
01
02
...
09
10

etc

PS that's for V6/7 for V9 the problem is V9 at the moment ;)

About the label pairs.

Have you tried the following

%SelectSQL("SELECT List, Value FROM aTable Order By Value",,%Chr(9),%Chr(44))

Other than that add another column to the table called tblOrderBy which is an INT which holds the order of the list in numerical format

Lists only fire the when changed event when you leave them by tabbing out or clicking in another field or on a button.
