Has anyone else installed this patch?  I put it in my test environment this morning and now my designer crashes when opening.

I downloaded it, but haven't installed it yet.  (Maybe I'm glad I hadn't yet.)  It looks like there are several features, if they work, that look like we'd want.  Let us know how you turn out.  I'll hold off for at least another week.

So i was supposed to have a webex with support in 30 minutes but i figured it out.

I was running the solution reporting tool(BETA) and it's version specific currently.  So as long as you're not running that add-in you should be safe.  If you are running that tool, just remove Metastorm.BpmSolutionReporting2008.addin and Metastorm.BpmSolutionReporting2008.dll from your designer directory.

Other than that little hiccup, this upgrade was quite simple.

Here's what i did for my environment(step 5 was a just incase but it doesn't appear that anything changed)
1) stop processes
2) run hotfix
3) start processes
4) update IIS application pools
5) update admin authentication scripts
6) update BPM\Web\Web.Config for SSO

So i just upgraded our 2 production servers yesterday and that went super smooth.  Stop processes, run hotfix, start processes, update web.config, and reset application pools(the last 2 were for sso).  The entire time was maybe 15 minutes per server.

Afterwards, i decided to do windows updates.  This broke the application pools and nothing worked anymore.  But my resolution was to just re-enter the custom account for the 4 application pools(3 Metastorm, 1 custom), a quick iisreset, and all was well.

Has anyone else had issues with windows update breaking application pools or Metastorm or SSO?

I haven't had Windows Update issues thus far, but they are controlled on our servers.

What disappoints me is how every MBPM release/hotfix breaks most of the config settings, which isn't too bad, and the IIS settings - which is rather annoying and disappointing.

We run our updates from a server as well and it seems that this only happens when there's a .net update.

I do like how the newer metastorm patches make backups of all configs with version numbers so you can at least reference what you had before it was destroyed.
