I'd say v9 is a must as the v7 shelf-life is limited. If you can do v9 (as per certification) you should be able to do v7, assuming you have experience too.

It is difficult as v9 is a very different because with a very different skillset to v7.

Apparently the certification exam for v9 is a work in progress. And I completely see your point Jerome, v9 certification would be a good indication that you have v7 knowledge as well.

How many people have the v9 cert?  Is it worthwhile?

Never had certification myself, and nobody has ever asked for it (however, when you have 'written the book' there is less chance of being asked).

If you need it to get a job, then it is a good idea. IMO, it is like a driving license, once you have one, you then start learning to drive.
