Hi All

Looking at integrating Metastorm V9 into Sharepoint to finally give the users a central portal. I would welcome any comments on any documentation I should be reviewing and or any pitfalls I should be aware of.

Cheers as always....

Everything I have read about it, although that is very little, as there was (at the time at least) very little, told me that it was a complex and painful process. If you followed everything exactly as stated, and had no differences in configuration, it was doable. Lots of lessons to be learned, but when completed, you would have got the hang of it. Just in case you felt masochistic enough to try it again, that is.

Sort of like setting up SSO and using the SDK in past times.

I may be wrong, it may have improved tremendously since then.

May I refer the honourable gentleman to reply I gave earlier....

But seriously, I think the answer is the same, although I have heard less, there is less information, and there is less general experience. I too want to try it, but we don't have time to spend on it right now so it will wait for a customer who wants to use it (one of ours is going to very soon, I believe).

Yes, I think we are fast approaching both of  these subjects ourselves...  I'll post any information I can on these when we finally start....

Hi John,

may I lead your attention to one of our current solutions for native Metastorm BPM / SharePoint and CRM integration that we also showed at the Metastorm User Conf last year.

Just take a look and tell me if this could be worth a more detailed presentation. See Attachments and the following link.

Cheers

P.S. All you see is pure out of the box Metatsorm BPM, no hidden dependencies.

Hi JD,

The mobile version of MBPM 9 is very easy to setup.

Simply download the latest version of Metastorm and download as well the Mobile Client and it works straight away on all HTML 5 compatible devices.

You need to setup HTTPS for this to work though (self signed cert is fine to do testing).

One important thing you need to consider. Not all forms components and functionality works on a mobile device. Here you need to follow the Steve Jobs and Apple way of thinking. Make you forms simple to use for the mobile workforce. They don't need grids, dozen of fields with dependencies, etc. As you might have a very small device like the iPhone you need to cater for that type of needs.

Once those forms are build you can control what forms are visible depending on the type of device using the system: Mobile or Desktop.

Hi JD,

yes Sharepoint and MBPM installation can be a bit of a pain especially when Kerberos (for SSO) is not setup properly. Once you have overcome the Kerberos setup mistakes you should be fine. The more complex your infrastructure is the more difficult will the Kerberos setup be (If you miss one SPN to configure it won't work). So start simple. Standalone server with all on one box (MBPM, Sharepoint, Database, Webclients, all you need).

The Metastorm BPM Webparts are a good start. For some customers we have built addiional webparts written in C# to interact with the MBPM Database/ECL or DMS.

Hi,

I am using metastorm v9 service webpart in a sharepoint page and have configured SSO in Metastorm service webpart.

In sharepoint, If I log in with different user, the webpart doesn't seems to refresh and shows the data pertaining to previous users. So I need to manually go to the webpart and "Reconnect" which then brings the correct data for the new user.

Kindly need your help to resolve this issue.

Thanks !
