Hi,

I am trying to move the position of a textbox at a form according to a specific scenario. I have tried to use the following HTML method document.getElementById("MyText").style.left = "100px"  to achieve the latter, but in vain.

I am working on Metastorm Designer of version 7.5.1, and I have reached to a stage where I am in doubt whether this verison could support my requirement or not.

I would appreciate if someone can assist and I would be happy to hear if there are other options to explore.

Thank you.

With Regards,
Rafeea

This is neither supported nor recommended (because it will break)

Hi Jerome,

Thank you for your response. I appreciate.

But, still I did not get your point regarding the break, and why it is not recommended? Could you please elaborate more?

Regards,
Rafeea

For example, in version 9 there are new components from Telerik and output HTML is completely different compared to  HTML in version 7. But even in minor versions upgrades there may be changes in HTML (or CSS) which are not documented and completely in hands of Metastorm developers.
So with every upgrade you need to check this unsupported hacks and edit them, if necessary.

Hi jpesout,

That's new info. for me. I just came to know about Telerik from your post. I googled it and it turned to be a vendor who provides controls to developers to use. In our example, metastorm developrs can use these controls without having the visiblity to the code behind these controls, including changes in HTML.

I can now understand the reason for not being it recommeded.

I appreciate sharing this info. with me.

Thank you.
