We have a business object that refers to a select statement, in which we have an ntext column that has information has follows

First Line
Second Line

This was inserted in the database as follows

"First Line" + "\r\n" + "Second Line"

I also tried as follows:

"First Line" + Environment.NewLine + "Second Line"
"First Line" + "\r" + "Second Line"
"First Line" + "\n" + "Second Line"

If we verify the query directly in SQL Server, it does return the results with a carriage return as desired, buth for some reason none of the above seem to do the job when trying to display the information. It is displayed as:

First Line Second Line

Any ideas on trying to achieve the above?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Are your grids set to display HTML or just straight text?  Are they read only?  (This is in the MBPM web.config if I recall.)  This is a system wide setting, not form by form or grid by grid.

If HTML, then \r\n are not HTML tags and will need to be converted to <br /> in your query.  (This is what we do as we allow RTF data, so need to display in HTML format, or plain text, so to get it to display I have an extra select column that does a replace of \r\n to <br /> do it displays as intended.
