I dont think this has ever been fixed in any version but hoping i'm doing something wrong.

This should be easy you would think but I cant seem to get BPM to execute any db related commands on the form cancel event. I tried adding the code to when user exits form by setting a checkbox on cancel clientside script and then checking the checkbox server side to execute visual script. No Luck

Tried adding a hidden button which is set to server event and pretty much do as above except do a buttonClick on the cancel clientside instead but that does not work either.

Has anyone any other successfull trick / hack

Thanks
Jas

I am pretty certain nothing you do will fire a sever event unless you actually prevent the cancel.

In theory, because I have not tested it, you could programmatically press the server button, and then set a timer to press another cancel button.

That is functioning as expected.  Having the "regular" cancel function run, the transaction is rolled back, so setting/calling anything as part of the transaction is rolled back.  As Jerome mentions, you'd have to replace the normal cancel in that case with a different function than normal.  We do something similar in one process to warn the user via pop-up about attempting to do the cancel (are you sure? kind of thing) .. then only if they click OK we do the normal cancel (otherwise we abort the cancel and they remain in the form).

Seems to be a problem with form cancel scripting. If I return false on a form cancel it just hangs. Get the timer but no errors etc.

Tried it on a couple of forms but same is happening. Anyone else having the same issue? We are on 9.1.0

Thanks

I must admit I have not tried, sorry. I 'll have a go if I get some spare time.
