According to OpenText CTO Eugene Roman, weComm’s technology supports the mobility strategy it debuted in 2010 with the introduction of OpenText Everywhere.
weComm’s WAVE software platform offers fast deployment of media rich applications for a wide range of mobile devices (more than 900), including smartphones and tablets such as the iPhone, iPad, Android, Blackberry, Windows Mobile, Symbian and Java devices.
For OpenText, the acquisition offers a way for the company to expand from Web experience management solutions and digital asset management software to mobile content creation, development and delivery.
The company just three weeks ago completed the acquisition of Metastorm, provides business process management software to government and commercial clients, which it purchased for $182 million.
