Problem Shutting Down Windows When Using Office XP (2002)

The information in this article applies to product: e-Work 5.3 5.4

  • When the e-Work Outlook client is installed, attempts to shut down Windows (shut down the computer) generate the message 'End Program Parking Window.' Checking Task Manager for the processes running will reveal multiple instances of Outlook.exe. It is necessary to end each of these either through Task Manager prior to Shut Down or by clicking on the 'End Now' button in the window that will appear for each instance of the Outlook process that is running.

  • The 'End Program Parking Window' error is resolved by installing MS Office XP SP2.
  • Multiple instances of Outlook.exe left after Outlook is closed (without the error message) is resolved by e-Work 6 and later.

Keywords: kb415

Post an example, and we will have a much better idea what the problem is. In about 90% of posts, the problem is one of communication. Examples bridge that gap.
