Well, it looks like we are back at it again.  We just received the Metastorm BPM v7.6 SR4 Patch 5 and installed it on our development servers and a few development computers.  Now, when we publish an existing map with libraries, we are getting an error when it tries to use a component in our library.  The error is:

Error - Unrecognised field type (C:\BPMDev\7.6.4\Designer\DesignerLib\Source\MetFormControl.pas, line 4729)

What is funny about this error is that we don't have our BPM loaded in this location, and since this was a rush job for Metastorm to get it out, I am wondering if they left some debugging code turned on or something else that causes it to point to a different location than where we have it loaded.  We have also searched our computers and servers and cannot find the file listed.

Has anyone else seen this error?  I do have a support ticket open with Metastorm, so hopefully they will figure it out before long.

Thanks

Alan

That is a Pascal (ie code) file (the designer is written in Dephi, which is based on Pascal).

There is a developer at Metastorm right now with some egg to be cleaned off their face. There is also still the obvious question of why, once again, the release was not tested. From this error, it may be concluded that it was not tested at all outside of the developer's workstation.

We just received an email back, and they have confirmed it as a problem.  I agree Jerome, this does not look good.  We have been trying to upgrade to SR4 for over a year now (mainly because of the Oracle 11G support) and we keep running into problems.  This has caused us huge embarrasement wiht out customer, but at least this time we caught it before it was put into production.

They did say that we could use the patch 4 designer until we get a fix, but not sure if that will cause other problems.

I'll post again once we get a status and what they want us to do.

Thanks

There is a new hot fix out to fix this, but we haven't been able to test it yet. if anyone does, please let us know how it goes. We hope to be ready to start testing this within the next week or so.

We've not had the publishing issues with SR4 - but we've not been able to install SR4 due to two previously working things that SR4 (and patches) broke.

First an issue with long labels losing their 'width' on forms and not then wrapping in the browser.
Then when they fixed that with a patch the %GetAttachment command stopped entirely!

Yeah we've had a long wait for SR4! But Patch 6 looks to work in a SQL Server test VM - so fingers crossed we can install SR4 into production finally!
